New Years Eve 3 day Event

We apologize for the delay of the newsletter as we had to resolve a few issues about the New Years Eve Weekend. We would like to remind you that the hotel is just about sold out. If you do plan on staying please call Kathy on Wednesday to book a room if they are available. We have had a few cancellations so make sure you are on the list. Also you may want to consider staying all 3 nights as the hotel is offering a $20 discount for Friday if you do.

Just a reminder for couples that book all 3 nights get first priority, 2 night bookings get second and 1 night obviously get last. The newcomer seminar will still be Saturday at 6:45 in the front of the Hotel. Hey, we all have to rest before the big party!

We had at first decided that we do just the bar area and just play music from a jukebox. But after the better that expected turnout we will have a normal Friday complete with the DJ and the Banquet Hall. Right now we expect over 75 couples on Friday night and of course well over 120 couples the following 2 nights. Friday night, because of the extra added expense there will be limited snacks upstairs on the private floor.

Dear Randy,

Once again as the year winds down we reflect on another successful year at VAF. Despite the higher gas prices and the higher interest rate the club continues to flourish. This year the club broke several attendance records as well a greater turnout for some of the afternoon activities, especially the pool parties. We hope we will again have a successful year in 2007.

Wild Wild West in December

Last month we had the privilege to see some sexy cowgirls! We have never seen so many hot western outfits. Just about everybody dressed for the theme. Short skirts and tall boots seemed to be the norm. Astro DJ Danny was there on Friday and Frank was there to keep everybody on the dance floor Saturday. It was his first time but we had no complaints. By the way did everybody see his girlfriend embrace the festivities? The sybian riding contest went off without a hitch as the girls gave great performances. And yes, we even had a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader. No comment. We will be sure to do this theme again next year. Yee Haw!

Afternoon Activities

Last month a few of us ventured to Richmond for a shopping trip in Carytown. We spent the day touring some of the unique Boutiques that the old city has to offer. We finished the trip off Western style as we dined at “Double T’s” Restaurant.

We will try to have a movie theater set up complete with drinks and popcorn if we have enough interest. If we do, we will start around 1pm.

New Catering Service

We have brought on a new catering service and they are looking forward to meeting our group. They plan on having a nice buffet every night of the social so we are asking our members to please support them. They are working really hard to please our group and want to continue doing our socials throughout the year. The buffet will start on Friday night at 8pm and will have light snacks. Saturday and Sunday the buffet will open at 7pm with a larger selection.

Last Minute Stuff

Also because of the extra added expense we will not be honoring discount coupons for this event as stated on the back of the card.

No theme this weekend other than dress to impress especially Sunday night.

Due to the fact that a lot of couples are showing up after registration closes we are going to strictly enforce the rule that after 10:30 pm every night if you do not show up you cannot attend.

Please check the dates on the website and make sure you don’t miss another Virginia Friends social in 2007!

We'll see you there!
